Hairy and Scary
Earlier this year my dad and I drove to bathurst to witness australia's second biggest enduro, which was the second time we've been to the event and has marked the start of a yearly ritual.

we were very surprised to find the only mr2 turnout had been 3 cars, all from the victorian branch of the club! the kind owners told us they needed just 6 mr2s to join in the parade lap (which the 86/brz owners club had the honor of running their 20+ car turnout) around the track, and it is disappointing that the nsw branch hasn't noticed the potential this event holds for the club.

It is a great opportunity for the different branches of the club to spend a few days together with their cars, and gives the club a chance to shine in the spotlight on australia's most iconic race track.

So this is a call out not just to mr2 owners of nsw, but to anyone who owns an mr2 in australia: come down to bathurst in february and enjoy this great event! I know I'm definitely bringing my sw20!
Please let your interest be known!

I am from Vic, it has always surprised me why this event seems of very little interest to NSW MR2 owners, being in their home state.

Although I didn't join the other Vic MR2 Club members attending this year, I had been to it for the previous two years and can say that is a fantastic weekend.
I will definitely be going next year, and I hope we can get a few more MR2 owners along as well.

At this particular Bathurst event you can get very close to not only the racing action, but also to the cars themselves in the pit area. A great place for photography enthusiasts.
I have included a pic taken by a Vic MR2 Club member at this year's event of the winning Mercedes garage, as well as Ferrari F458 track action.

I like the photos! We had a great time last year as well, despite the bad weather for the majority of the race

hmmm we are only 3 hours from bathurst and it surprises us too. I feel if we were a day's drive away we'd still turn up because like you said the event just never fails to excite us, and has a far more chill and friendly atmosphere than any v8 race weekend.

i've still yet to sort my dad's photos, but i'll upload some soon as well. here's a video from the 86/brz owners parade lap: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQj4cl0oVdU

look forward to seeing you next year!
