One Saturday, four of the MR2Australia members were at Wakefield for the Track Club event.
There were two drivers, amisovy and adrian in their standard powered 2.0ltr NA SW20's against a number of race cars, serious trackday weapons, EVO's, Commodore cup race cars, Mercedes and more.
Both drivers were seamless for the whole day, separated by 0.5 second nudging each other with times all day long.
Peter and myself were busy working on the cars all day long trying different settings in a bid to break the 1.12 barrier for a 2.0 NA SW20. Unfortunately they did not crack the 1.12 but they both finished in the top ten.
They smashed so many cars with superior driving and exposing what a fantastic handling car the SW20 can be in the right hands.
Congratulations to both the guys on a great effort.
Here are the results

The whores were race cars.
Ian did a 1.13.78 but it was shown in the final standings which would have the guys finishing 8th and 9th with Ian nudging Adrian by a tenth.

That's awesome work guys!
Going by my MTC2013 laps, I would have placed top 15, which is kind of inspiring to me considering the long list of superior cars on that list compared to my old **** box.

True that Aaron.
The best part was, they were the lowest powered cars of the whole meet. I watch Ian pull 5 seconds on a Falcon XR6 Turbo in five corners. It was just a treat to watch. Adrian was as quick as the full blown CAMS circuit cars in a few sessions. They were the two quikcest cars into the fishhook and very planted.
Hopefully we can extract a little more and see a 1.12.7 on the same tyres.

To be fair, the majority of those guys were rookies. This track day was geared more towards first timers and novices just having a punt in their family car, hence why Ian and myself managed to get in the top 10. At the Circuit Club days I'm normally at, I'd sit halfway down the list or a bit further towards the bottom.

Was a really fun day out. Thanks heaps for coming along Steve and Pete. Always nice to have some extra company. And thanks for teaching me how to do wheel alignments! No more spending $120 on an alignment (then spinning off and ruining it in the first session) for me. I can't believe after 4 track days I've somehow spun off enough times at just the right angles to get all my toe angles to 0. Oh Steve- when you get a chance can you text me those numbers we measured off the car for the alignment? Thanks mate.

Super happy with my 1'13.8. Though I'm sure there's more in the car. I reckon a low 1'13 is reasonable and that's what I'll be shooting for over the next few track days. But I'd really like a pro to flog the car just to see what it can do. I'm sitting here speculating about a low 13 but maybe the car is good for a 12 flat. Rick Bates brings his 86 out to Circuit Club days every now and then so next time I'll have him drive for a session and see what happens.

Bloody Iain got me by one tenth! Well done mate. But next time... So much red mist I'll have to run with the aircon on haha. Post up a link when you get the videos up on youtube. What we need to do is get footage of a good lap from both of us and place them side by side to see where each car is quicker. I reckon that'd be helpful for getting our times down.
