A lot of fun to be had in that baby.

I took it for a run to Wisemans ferry over the weekend. It was really hard on the car. Wouldn't recommend driving that road. Steering is like a go-kart. Really heavy! It was good to drive a mr2 on the street. Very different experience. Really enjoyed it.

The spring rates on your coilovers must be pretty serious. I live on Old Northern Rd and go down to Wisemans regularly and its pretty smooth given it hasn't had fresh bitumen put down in over 15 years, the road doesn't do too much kidney bashing.

Yes they are very heavy. Great on the track or smooth roads. Anything else is a nightmare. The run from Wisemans to Gosford was pretty bad. There are some smooth parts but in general, its not great.

Just about ready for the trip to Tasmania. Fitted new pads. Discovered a few seized shafts. Better late than never. Also replaced ball joints and new tyres. Still has a heat sink issue with intercooler lines but will sort it out soon enough. Looking forward to January at SMP.

I have returned from Tasmania where I spent a few days being shown the great roads of Tasmania by a great friend and a great person who is known as stuka on the forums. Doug from Queensland made up the trio. It was the greatest drive I have experienced aside from driving the back roads from LeMans to Monaco to Venice then Rome. Such a fantastic location and beautiful people. The mainland has a lot to learn about the 'touring' economy.
The car was very reliable, didn't miss a beat as did stuka's Black SW20. The balance was really nice but spring rates were too high for long drives as I ended up with a popped muscle and neck pain but all worth the sheer enjoyment of driving.
The EBC red pads were excellent. I would recommend these for touring as they are really nice for medium speed heavy braking. No brake fade over the four days.
The 595 rsrr were really nice too providing enough grip to enjoy a rush of corner speed with plenty left in the tyre for a safety margin.
The BC coil over worked well in every circumstance too.
The major let down was the old bushings were playing havoc with the steering on the bumps which needs to be sorted so I have a bit of work to do before I take it out again but it proved to be excellent value for money, a great experience which will not be forgotten.

I managed to end 2016 by taking this car and a friend to Wakefield Park for a day of driving. As it was my friends first ever day on the track, it was great to see him enjoy it in my car. Nothing better than being generous when the opportunity arises.
The car ran without breaking and we didn't give it much rest as there were only three groups, not four.
It really has no power as it's as quick in a straight line as a FT86 so about 120rwkw.
The rsrr held up well but brake discs and lines didn't fair so well as they were suffering all day.
Times were 1:13.5. I believe it will do a 1:12:00 in its current set up but that's something to work on in 2017.
The gearbox suffered heat sink too as shifting was an issue. Synchro's were screaming by the afternoon.

Thanks Eric, can still find more time without performance modification but really needs some cooling management as I could have cooked eggs on the intake plenum.

You can never have too much cooling with a turbo car!
