hahaha. 
I sorta know some who has a V6 for sale as well.   All I know is that it's a V6 & is black.  He lives around the corner from mum.

Maybe a compromise,

V6 turbo...

Re-spray hoping around July. (after tax refund) or maybe earlier if the bank balance rises quicker than expected, lol. Unless something more pressing is needed.
 
I'm open to recommendations.  Will be a closed door re-spray, same colour.
 

Have a chat to Luke Gallagher from Gallagher Smash 30 Broadmeadow Rd, that's who did the repairs on mine and I will be using him again for a few things I am planning.

Can always just wrap her, much cheaper :p 

Speedy's painting in cardiff is a perfectionist and has always done a beautiful job and is highly recommended. However he does know this so he's probably the most expensive person in Newcastle. After seeing Nik's car Gallagher does a good job. 
 
Other spray painters that have been recommended by car friends in the area are:

All have looked after car people in the hunter so I'm sure they'd do the same. Maybe you can call around and get an idea of what they want for a price? I'm sure if you made an event the MR2 club could come up and rub the car down with sandpaper to save you $500 or so off the price haha.
