Hey guys,
Couple of months ago, I purchased Anietie's car. Its a 1991 SW20 with a sweet V6 3VZ-FE in it.
I had an evo 9 for few years, it was my daily and my track car, heavily modified. But my budget started suffering so I sold it few months ago.
I bought the MR2 with the intention of turning it into a full time track car, hopefully on a 'responsible' budget.
I haven't started yet, so ideas/suggestions/advice are much needed :)

Anyway.... I'm Rick from Ceduna (long way from Adelaide unfortunately). 6 months ago i bought a Silver 97 Bathurst SW20. I have a Beams 3SGE sitting in my shed waiting for a transplant (hopefully before Christmas). The car is currently totally stock.
I've been a fan of MR2's since a friend bought an AW11 new back in 87. Unfortunately i haven't been able to get one until now (mid life crisis maybe?). I used to have a RA28 Celica, which i wish i'd never sold.
 
Who is still active in the SA MR2 community?

Yeah has been very quite on the SA mr2 community for months now.. anyway, looks though you have a beautiful mr2 there.
Hopefully you can meet a bunch of us when we head of to MTC in early Jan 2015.
Are you still planning on making the trip?  ATM, there are 4 of us heading over.
 

I'm definitely hoping to go to the MTC, so we might be able to meet up at Mildura or somewhere...

I'm based in Adelaide, I'm slowly building a track SW20 3VZFE. I'm currently overseas, due back in Oct, I'll try to come out to Mallala when I'm back.
I'm planning on going to the Hyperdrive challenge track day in Nov.
I'll see how I go and how the car performs before I make a decision regarding attending the MTC.

My name is Mandi (as my username possibly gives away), I own a 180sx SR20 track car for drifting and an S14 for daily drives, have previously owned skylines, more 180's, more s14's and manual 1j jzz30 soarer. 
 
I'm here as I am looking to purchase an AW11 for a fun daily that I can build into some classic styled little hills beast, so far I've been finding that AW11 owners like to hold onto them haha!

I hope you find one so you can join the ranks of SA MR2 owners.
I've only had my SW20 for 7 months now, and am yet to meet any other MR2 owners (I live 800kms away from Adelaide)
I'm going to a track day at Mallala on monday with the Classic Celica Car Club. This will be my first track day :)
I'd like an AW11 too, but i can't afford another toy lol.
Have you considered a SW20? There's a nice blue one in Adelaide for $6900 atm (you'd probably get it for a lot less as it's been for sale for over 6 months - It's a bit of a buyers market atm)
