Well done with the lap time at Wakefield Glenn. How effective is the aero on the car?

I saw your lap times on NATSOFT for Wakefield, what a weapon. Well done on the build, looks the part too.

Thanks Pat. To be honest, I haven't noticed a difference. The car does however seriously need a splitter on the front. At high speeds - i.e. Eastern Creek straight, the front gets very "floaty" to the point of it being scary. I need more down force on the front. You can even start to feel it becoming unstable at Wakefield. I've tried putting sand bags in the frunk though they make no difference.
To be sure about aero effectiveness, you really need to do wind tunnel testing with load sensors etc

I can thank the new Hoosier R6 tyres for the good lap times. They are the best tyres I have ever bought. Great grip and they didn't overheat. Cheap too.

Your idea of cheap and mine might be different, lol. I'm running Federal RSR's as they were the cheapest track oriented type tyre I could find. They grip well enough for the track but will definitely look into those R6's when I finally wear them out. I'm just kicking around for a bit of fun on the track, not too serious about my lap times at this stage.

I run a  front splitter (and have a spare carbon fiber one) on mine and no rear wing and the front doesn't get floaty at all, even at very high speed. Could your rear wing be unbalancing the car? I definitely feel that I lack down force though on the back section of phillip island though, would love to have a ton more down force pushing me down for the high speed sweepers. Straights are golden though and the car always feels balanced.

You may be right. I haven't driven the car enough to remember what it felt like before the wing was fitted. I'll make and fit a front splitter and report back here on how the car handles after.
