From memory the Camry uses a different profile key than the MR2 and also the ignition is completely different. The immobiliser box for the Camry will be a separate box to the ECU, did you get this too, and the keys for it? I'm not 100% sure but I can check today at work but I didn't think that Toyota had a transponder blank in the same profile as the MR2, but a way to get around this would be to drill a hole in the side of the MR2 key, cut out the chip from the Camry and glue it in the MR2 key, then all you need to do for the ignition is attach the antenna coil which should be straight forward.

Might just be easier to change the ECU to an aftermarket one so you don't need the factory immobiliser :)

I've got the key and pretty sure everything else required. Also been looking into getting the ecu re-flashed to remove I mob.

I've said it before but I hope to put the engine in this weekend.

Belt I used for alt alone is a Gates part#6pk940

Be aware that the drivers side driveshaft inner CV joint can rub against the block. What's your plan to cross the coolant flow?

Engine is in!!!!
I'll post some pics tonight fits great with some healthy looking space driver side.

I wonder if the rubbing you mentioned is caused by the carrierbearing mount people have used.

Sorry if you have answered this but i have missed it...

What are you doing for the fuel rail - the 1mz is returnless but does it need to to a return system for the sw set up?

I have read somewhere that the earlier v6 (can't remember right now) fuel rail is a return type and is compatible with the 1mz.

Or have I just got it all back to front? (it is 2.25am...)

The 3vz fuel rail does have a return but it is NOT compatible with the 1MZ. You'll hear otherwise from others but from those that have tried it, they know that it doesn't work. I know, I tried.

I just put a T piece into the fuel line, SARD fuel pressure reg on one side, rail on the other. Works fine.

Virgin is correct the 3vz fuel rail does not fit the 1mz. Ive got one of the first gen 1mz which did have a return system.
