Take care not to kink "nylon" high pressure hose from union near engine mount across to fuel filter.
Hose union can be impossible to undo. Tank as near empty as possible. While out, check brass heater pipes for cracking where their brackets are brazed to them. I think it's usually the right rearmost one. Should be rubber mounted on your later model car.(I think).
Inspect inside of tank. Should be shiny silver.(tinned). Maybe clean and an extra coat of paint on outside?
Which pump are you installing? Check all wiring is robust and in really good condition.
Check the several rubber pads glued to tank. They wedge into the tunnel adding rigidity and preventing rattles.
Any extra insulation you can improvise where the wiring penetrates the tunnel is beneficial too. A lot of front tyre noise comes in from there.
