That's a pretty reasonable goal. Andrew Handmer (Dumhed) set 1:12's in his Natro S13 while running on Nankang NS2's.

Hooray maybe there is hope for my tires! lol

some of those laps those guys are using second gear!!

the s13 is second gearing the two corners i second gear. but i guess my gear ratios are really short. and from what i can work out the porshe is second gearing it too. unless its got a 6 speed box and its going up to 6th.. i think..

Some of the boxes are close ratio boxes so they would be using 2nd. The porsche is a 6 speed close ratio so it could be using third .

I suspect your box is the same as everyone elses MR2. Its just a point of practice or a day with Mike which will solve the problem of gearing at Wakefield.
Here's mine at Wakefield with a pretty poo pooty setup but still shows gearing. Just bypass all the spins to see the two clean laps..
Here's EVO65 at Wakefield. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXk45_BUUvI
This one is a AW11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdVxuHSL3Lg

if its runnign a 6 speed wouldn't that mean it would DEFINATELY need to use third gear?

Has anyone set a time down at Winton?? When my car is up and running, i will be running the car down there and need a ballpark time to aim for, as i have nothing to go off other than been told i need to aim for under 2 minutes.

Do your best, you can't suck if you are the only one giving it a go

I would love to have a run at Winton too. Heard good things about the track.

It's a nice tight track, instead of been a power based track like phillip island or sandown. I have a question for you B24, what speed do you reach down the main straight of EC?? I have a customer at work who's car i am setting up, and he plans to have a go at EC, maybe even for superlap next year, but he is concerned about the gearing in his car not being suitable.

My car isn't all that quick in a straight line with about 200-210kph at the moment.
With more power and speed off the corner that speed will be destroyed.
250kph would be a acceptable figure for a 250+kw atw,1100kg,tightened chassis, aero,36" of rubber MR2. times would be close to 1.40 with the right driver
The gearing would have to be similar to PI.
Hope thats helpful

I think EVO65 is 220-240.
