This is a FACTORY ECU that has been mod'd by Blitz, few little new circuit boards and wiring inside, but when installed in the car looks totally factory! The Blitz Access logos are on the rear, if you wanted to you could swap the covers around.
 
Takes a whole 30 sec to install. Keeps the factory ECU feel, drive-ability and functions (TVIS, knock, factory diagnostics ect)
 
I dont know exactally whats been done with this ECU, i believe they were customer custom orders, usually to suit small boost increase, exhaust ect, i bought this from... if i can remember?..? Eric? from this forum, if anyone knows more please post.

Is yours a rev 1 or rev 2?

My car is a 1989, unsure if theres a diff between years up to 93+ (GenIII)

Yep. 89-91 are rev 1 gen 2
92-93 are rev 2 gen 2
 
11/93+ are gen 3

pretty sure it's 89-91 is rev1. 92/93 rev2. gen/rev3 was end of 93on

I've got some bolt on intake and exhaust mods so it "might" be worthwhile. I like that it's a minor enhancement to what is basically a factory ECU. Just concerned about increased boost with the the ceramic turbine. Have you had a chance to run it and see what boost level it's set at?

I doubt the ecu will directly increase what boost you will run. Rather it will have removed the factory fuel/boost cut at 12psi allowing you to run more boost by whatever boost control method you choose. Ie electronic or maual bleed valve.

Still, just not knowing what it was set up for and not being able to tune it (I presume) is a bit of a downer. Be great if anyone has any dyno sheets to quantify any benefits .

Fortunately, MAF type setups (like with the AFM) are much more kind to modifications then a speed density setup meaning, really, it doesn't need retuning for of AFR's with different modifications.
 
You'll likely not feel a great deal of difference with the Blitz unit (apart from raised boost cut & RPM) as our fuel doesn't have the octane to take advantage of the timing benefits.  Benefits are there to be had however.

 
The blitz will net you around 35hp on 100 RON.
On 98, probably less than you have now.
