Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ

So who's thinking of getting a Toyota 86 or Subaru BRZ when it eventually comes out?

I think it's about 2 months away.  Japan has already started receiving theirs!

For the 30-40k price tag, would you buy one?

If anyone's actually interested in pre-ordering one, we have contacts in NSW, QLD and VIC at Toyota Dealers on the OZFT86 Forum.  www.ozft86.com.au/forums

Thinking of ordering one but the no price tag is really annoying!

Changed my mind on the 86 - for 40K I'd rather buy a used Lexus and keep my MR2 (probably will in a couple years)

Darius!  How did you take those pictures yourself?

That's the first of the BRZ I've heard of being on the roads in Australia!

Yeh I don't doubt the authenticity of it either.  I seen evidence of the 86 driving around but this is the first of the Subaru's and it looks to be a full road version and registered by the looks of it!

It's frustrating that we have to wait so long just to hear about prices.  Some guys have already put down deposits though.  Anyone know how the 86/brz's center of gravity compares to the MR2's?

my understanding is the 86 has a lower CoG than any MR2 due to the boxer motor etc.

True that.  Then people go and offset the low center of gravity by throwing in V8 ISF engines and such!

It's pretty amazing how the introduction of these twins have pretty much flicked the switch back on for the aftermarket tuning companies in Japan.

It's definitely going to be a racers car.

Unfortunately haven't been able to dig up any figures for it yet.  They're probably still doing some more tuning.
